Congratulations Angieeeeee!!!!

After a lot of research, a lot of head-breaking moments and doubts (on her part)...Angela Basurto surprised us all with wonderfully home-made curtains, which now grace our living room and make it so much cozier.
Just a big warm thank you for your efforts, time and talents. You've got it in ya!!! Congrats, darling!!!

My personal pet

My favorite little Turtle (aka. Leche or Danny), is now my slave.
Yes, you read that right, my slave.
He bet that his team would win the soccer game they had today, but even though it really looked that way (they were ahead by two goals the entire game), sadly, as he is not on the field the entire game, they have to let other people play as well as per game rules, and at the very end lost by one goal. He bet his life. Which is now mine.
Anyone want to marry him? Of course you have to pay me though.
Nicole, I'll give you a good price ;)

Ok, so supposedly it didn't count because they played in the wrong field and one of the players was missing, but still....

Baile Americano

Creen que ver a una pareja bailar tango es lindo,,,,,,, esperen a ver como hacemos bailar a Estados Unidos. Cuando regresemos , solo les vamos a traer medallas y copas de oro!!!

Do you miss me?

Just made some rich dark chocolate cake, topped with chocolate frosting and dulce de leche.
Uber delish!!
Bet you "Wish you were here!"

Men & Soccer...and then of course, Nata!

Just another lovely evening at Parque Arauco watching the boys as they merrily play by. (such a gay sentence...the boys are gonna kill me)

Jasper/Freddie here seems a bit confused or bored. Apparently the other team sucked so bad that Juna had nothing better to do other than stand around looking pretty, hoping they'd have a chance at arriving to the goal so he could have some action. And so it was, and the other sucky team did score goal 5 minutes after this shot.

Here we see a snapshot of Nata and his usual soccer rituals. Juanma seems to be running for his life while his brother is caught helpless?

Nata, Danny and other dirty miscreants I need not name. I have to say, that afternoon watching the boys play was pretty hilarious. Nata always gets overly excited when he's two meters away from making a goal and tends to put exaggeratedly too much emphasis on his kicks or head throws and usually misses it by sending the ball waaaaay over the goal. He does tend to be the most eccentric person in the field (and out?). We love you, G-d bless you Nata!! haha

To be a mother...

Sam and Danny, our home wants to congratulate you for bringing into this world one more life, one more heart. May G-d bless your family and bring nothing but sheer joy to the lives of you three.

Sam, I can't forget to mention what a beautiful baby girl you have, next time she comes to visit we'll kidnap her. hehehe. ---Please still come visit??

A mother's love determines how we love ourselves and others.
There is no sky we'll ever see not lit by that first love.

Stripped of love, the universe would drive us mad with pain;
But we
are born into a world that greets our cries with joy.

Sam, congratulations on fulfilling women's highest calling, you are a mother!

Alfajores and Peanut Butter

So Mima has FINALLY returned, all of us are overjoyed, especially Vi.
Though I'm not sure if she was more excited that her sister was back, or that she was bringing presents like peanut butter, and alfajores.
If I had had my camera ready I would have snapped a few priceless pictures of their reunion and of Vi's priceless dance with the peanut butter. But sadly the only pictures that will be gracing this post are the lovely ones I found on google.

Bus Ticket back to Santiago from Buenos Aires: $65
Genuine Havana Argentine Alfajores: $30
Peanut Butter from Argentina: $10

The dance of Vi when she received all three

PRICELESS!!!!

Some things in this world, money just can't buy.
For everything else, Visa Mastercard!!

Thus Saith Vi!

Mima got a one week "Vacation"...........its been 10 days and she still hasn't come back. Vi (the younger sister) is sent with this Message. We of course know what the answer will be (history tells us so).

Happy Birthday Coachy!!!

This last Saturday we held in our home Coachy's birthday party! Andres was surprised at how much fun he had!!! It was a great opportunity for us to meet more of the family people around Santiago. And no, the house did not get trashed, everything went well, everyone was dancing (except Juan of course, due to his tragic clumsy trip incident that nearly cost his leg. hehe) and we all had a great time!

Sunday 'get together'

Here are a couple of photos from the get together we had today with a few friends.

The Trip, Part 2.

Big thanks to Paco, Flor and family for putting us up in their house.
It was a lot of fun to be able to spend time to get to know you all.

Chris was our guide and took us to see some of the sights of Peru.

Worship This...

Sincerely, I can fully understand their sun-worshiping culture, that way they feel a little closer to Heaven. But all they have to do is: Cross the border and they'll be right there.

(P.s. Incas are proud of their sun-worshiping ritual.)

The Trip, Part 1.

From beginning to the end.
First off, we left Santiago at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, the 26th of March.

This was our bus.

After passing La Serena, Chile, the landscape was nothing but desert.

We arrived in Arica, Chile, at 9:30 a.m. Friday, the 28th of March.
We crossed into Peru cramped in a car with two strangers and our driver. Poor Danny was squished next to a stinky passenger in the backseat. The time at the border crossing and driving to the next city took about 2 1/2 hours and we arrived in the city of Tacna, Peru.

After 32 hours of cookies and juice, we quickly bought our tickets and went to find FOOOOOD, glorious FOOD. We ate good.

Peru, ripped off the name of Chilean Cristal Beer.

Then walked around being good little tourists.

The next part of our trip started at 2:30 p.m. that same afternoon. The beginning of torture and frustration.

These music videos were blasting the whole trip besides once when they turned on a movie. And the worst of it was that the passengers directly behind us were of poor hearing and pleading with our hostess to raise the volume, which she did... My ipod could not blast loud enough to drown out the sounds of pure torture to my ears.
Never before in my life had I been so happy to listen to a poorly dubbed movie!
We arrived in Lima at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, the 29th of March. Which made our bus riding time to 55 hours, oh joy!

Love Suffers ALL!!!

"I'm so gonna KILL Pablo!!!"
Mima exclaimed as she made her first contact with our home from her lovely trip to Buenos Aires to see Lover-Boy.
"-- He made me walk the distance of two whole metro stations in HEELS!!!"

DEFINING The Inca Gods

Leche, you didn't go to India, you went to Peru. In Peru (the promised land) people don't worship animals...FOOL!!! Peru worshiped the Sun, because it signified "shine" and that is the Legacy we were given... Shine! You want some? You need some.

Defying the Inca gods

"Die llama, die!!"
